Rishworth Palace Ltd.

• When the mill was converted into apartments in 1994, Rishworth Palace Ltd. was established as the management company to look after the building and its grounds on behalf of the freeholder and the owners of the apartments. Further information on the legal structure is given here.
• Rishworth Palace Ltd. is managed by a group of up to nine, elected, volunteer directors whose names are listed on the main notice boards in the mill. All directors are owners of apartments at the mill. Further information can be found here at Companies House.
• The board has a policy to publish notice of any vacancies on all management company notice boards, inviting expression of interest and a procedure requiring all potential applicants for the position(s) to submit a formal application supported by a CV, proposed and seconded by two other owners. The notice of vacancy will be published for 21 days in advance of the board meeting at which the board intends to consider the applications and make the appointment.
• The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in June. New directors are ratified and owners may vote (one vote per apartment) on various issues raised.
• The directors have areas of responsibility comprising finance, maintenance and building works, grounds and technical services. Any apartment owner can become a director by election as per the above point.
• Rishworth Palace Ltd. is required to arrange buildings insurance for the whole building. Residents must arrange their own contents insurance.
• Residents' surgeries are held monthly in the meeting room so that residents can raise issues in a face-to-face manner. Issues can also be raised via the directors postbox in the main entrance and via email on the contacts page.
• Residents are advised to provide emergency contact telephone numbers to the directors for use in case of fire or flood.
