Refuse Disposal
Residents are requested to park in such a way that access to the bin stores by the refuse disposal vans is not obstructed. If the vans cannot approach the bin stores, the bins will not be emptied.
Calderdale Council can arrange for large items of household waste to be collected and disposed of, e.g. beds, chairs, cookers, sofas, washing machines or carpets. The general guideline is that if the item is something you would take with you when moving house, the Council will remove it for a standard charge.
Calderdale Council will also collect fridges, freezers and building waste on payment of a fee.
To arrange collection and payment, phone 0845 245 7000 or visit the Calderdale Council website.
Residents and/or their contractors must not dump bulky items, fridges, freezers or building waste in the bin stores without first making an arrangement with the Council. All residents have to share the cost of the removal of any waste for which an arrangement has not been made.
