Rishworth Village
Rishworth is a small village in West Yorkshire on the edge of the Pennines. It is about a mile from Ripponden on the A672 and four miles from Sowerby Bridge by way of the A672 and A58. Rishworth Palace is also about four miles from junction 22 on the M62 trans-Pennine motorway, which provides good access to Leeds and Manchester.
There are several pubs and restaurants in Rishworth, Ripponden and Sowerby Bridge. There are also local shopping facilities in Ripponden and Sowerby Bridge and a wider range of facilities in Halifax, which is about six miles from the mill.
There are local buses into Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge and Halifax, about once an hour on weekdays. Railway stations in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax and Littleborough provide trains to Leeds, Manchester and beyond.
The Booth Wood stream passes by the mill. Most of the water is now held upstream in the Booth Wood reservoir, and there are very pleasant walks a short distance from the mill beside the old millpond and the Booth Wood stream.
