Television
All apartments have an access point that carries the Freeview terrestrial channels. In many apartments the access point also carries Skysat and Freesat satellite channels. Some apartments have a second access point (usually in a bedroom) that carries the Freeview terrestrial channels.
The satellite TV distribution system was originally paid for privately by a group of some 60 apartment owners. In 2010, Rishworth Palace Ltd. upgraded the TV distribution system and offered to provide the same satellite service to those apartments not already connected. Some owners did not accept the offer or did not provide access to their apartments so that the installation could be carried out. Rishworth Palace Ltd. is not responsible for the provision of satellite service to those apartments that do not already have it.
Where already provided, the satellite service comprises a single satellite feed. Some set-top boxes now require a second feed for full utilisation, which requires the installation of a second cable or the use of multiplexors on the existing cable. Halifax Aerials can normally provide the required equipment and services (at the resident’s expense).
The TV distribution system is maintained by Halifax Aerials, 19 Boulderclough, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 3BT. No other firm is permitted to work on the system. Halifax Aerials can be contacted (at the resident's expense) for a Sky TV connection on 01422 884013
If residents suspect that the TV distribution system is at fault, they should first contact the technical director, who will, if appropriate, call out Halifax Aerials Communications Ltd. Residents should, however, first ensure that the problem does not lie with their own equipment. Rishworth Palace Ltd. is not responsible for Halifax Aerials charges if residents call Halifax Aerials themselves or if the fault is subsequently found to be in the resident's own equipment.
